Community Profiles: Belleville

Welcome to the City of Belleville. We are proud to be part of the greater Belleville Community which includes Van Buren and Sumpter Townships.
Belleville, incorporated as a City in 1946, is approximately two square miles in area and has a population just under 4,000. Our town includes businesses ranging from light industry, to restaurants, to service and retail establishments. Belleville is the home of the National Strawberry Festival, which is held in mid June each year.
The City of Belleville is located on the southern shore of Belleville Lake, with over a mile of shore line within the City limits, Belleville offers the ambiance of a pedestrian friendly small town. Yet we are less than a 30 minute drive for the larger metropolitan areas such as Ann Arbor and Detroit and only seven miles from Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
We are delighted to be a part of the Aerotroplois Project. This multi community effort for economic development of the area will have positive effects on the quality of life for everyone involved.
